My baby girl is now officially 7 years old!!!!

As I prepared a photo collage of her year as a 6-year-old for her 7th Birthday Party I realized how much my baby girl has changed over the past year. *As a side note, I totally forgot to pick up the photo collage from Walgreens and it still remains there today.  I know, I know, it’s sad.

Despite me telling her that she is not allowed to grow up, she doesn’t listen and continues to do so. In this past year she has completed the first grade, lost a bunch of teeth (including her 2 front teeth) and discovered a love/hate relationship with roller coasters. She now chooses her own clothes, does her own hair, loves lip gloss and even accessorizes all on her own!

As I look at her, there is no trace of a baby anymore. My baby girl is so grown up mentally and in the way she acts, it’s crazy! Thankfully, she still wants to cuddle with me, hold my hand and she lets me smother her with kisses and I will continue to do so until she pleads with me not to. Actually, I will keep doing those things even when she doesn’t want me to. After all, no matter how old she gets she will always be my baby girl (whether she likes it or not!).

While I struggle with her growing up, I am so proud to see the little lady she has become. She is loving, smart (with an incredible memory), sensitive (sometimes too much so), she loves the Lord and loves being silly (I wonder who she gets that from)…

I could go on and on but you get the point.  I am proud to be her Mami and I pray that the Lord continues to bless and protect my baby girl.  I am nervous and excited to see what her next year as a 7-year-old has in store for us.  It is a good thing that I am always up for an adventure!

How has your child changed in the past year? Have you noticed any major changes that have made you realize how grown they are now?
