Just when you thought the story of our favorite Toy Story characters was done, they come out with Toy Story 4 that sucks you back in and they did so in such a way that left me with all the feels. Given that I love the way Toy Story 3 ended, the toys in a loving home and Andy off to college, I didn’t quite understand the reasoning behind another film. But that’s the thing about these characters we have come to know and love over the years, we don’t need to understand it. We just need to appreciate that the makers of this film came up with a great story that allowed these characters to come back into our lives (as thought they had ever left).
I have been excited to see Toy Story 4 since they first announced they were making the film, even more so after being at the 2017 D23 Expo and hearing a little more about it. So, when we were invited to a pre-screening of the film, I was going to make that happen and I am so glad I did.
My entire family loved it. There was a lot of heart in the film and thankfully, a lot of laughs. While I didn’t cry during the movie, there were times that I came close. I felt like a little kid as I giggled at parts of the movie long after the funny scene had ended. Let’s just say, I love Ducky and Bunny and leave it at that so I don’t spoil anything for you. I love how they gave us new characters to love!
Is it for kids? Absolutely. Not only will they be amused but they will laugh, alot. I want to mention that there are some creepy dolls in the film that may give them an initial little scare (at least I was for a quick second) but maybe they are just tougher than me.
I am so glad they made Toy Story 4! It is now officially in theaters and yes, you should totally go and see it with the family. Given that a lot of us have grown up with these characters, how special is it that we now get to enjoy it with out own kids?
Oh, and stay after the credits!!!
