It has taken me a while to write a post about my baby boy turning 5 years old. Actually, I still don’t what to say except for the fact that he is now 5 years old and it has hit me harder than it did with my daughter (at least from what I can remember). I think it has to do with the fact that he is the baby in our family and now he is no longer a baby.
“5” is such a big birthday milestone. Next year he’ll be in Kindergarten (insert pouty face here) then pretty soon he’ll be high school and then dating…NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (insert tears here). While I am obviously exaggerating about the timeline, let’s be real…time goes by so fast and our kiddos grow up way to quickly. Why oh why must my children break my heart by growing up???
Thankfully my son still likes to cuddle, refers to me as his girl friend and tells me I am beautiful every day (he’s going to make a good husband when he’s 50).
My little man is one of the greatest blessings in my life and I am so thankful that God chose me to be his mom. It’s not always easy (he has his dad’s personality…OK, fine! He has my personality) but he is loving and has a great heart. I love experiencing the world through his eyes and I can’t wait to see what he in store for himself and for us. Life with him is an adventure and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love you little man…always!
Is the baby in your family no longer a baby? How are you coping with it?

Happy Birthday to your little man. I have s love/hate relationship with my babies growing up. I love to see where they are headed but hate to see them leaving me more and more. My son is my youngest too. i don’t know its something about those little boys tugging at your heartstrings. That little man melts my heart every day. He still gives me kisses ever so often. Love him death. He’s 11 now. My daughter is 13. You have a beautiful family.
Thanks for your kind words…kids grow up way too fast!
My oldest turned 5 this year and started Kindergarten. I am still having a hard time with it. I can’t imagine when the baby gets there.
It is rougher than I thought but there is nothing I can do but enjoy every minute…thanks for commenting 🙂
