I genuinely enjoy volunteering at my kids school but my schedule has been a bit hectic as of late, so I am hesitant about taking on more responsibility because I truly hate to let people down. So when I attended a PTA Meeting a few months ago and walked out filling the empty position of Recording Secretary for the PTA Board I was surprised (my husband even more so)!
I am not quite sure how it happened, because it seemed to happen so fast, but I went with it because I love helping others and the PTA at my daughters school really goes above and beyond for the school. They have been very understanding when I have missed a meeting or gotten there really late but this time I took it to a whole new level…
I lost my notes from the previous meeting and now I am not able to do my report (which is a biggy). Needless to say, I am mortified….I feel so bad.
I posted about having “Mommy Guilt” yesterday (you can see the post HERE) and here I am feeling guilty yet again. When will I learn?????

I wouldn’t worry too much about it… it happens! I served as Recording Secretary for my school’s SAC Committee for 2 years – the best thing I did was to get a spiral notebook to keep all my notes in, since I write faster than I can type.
I know they appreciate anything you can do! :o)
Thanks! I took notes on paper but lost the paper…LOL
I am sure others have done this as well. Just show up and let them know what happened and that you will not let it happen again as you have a new spiral to keep everything in. If you still fill bad take something sweet and they will be to busy eating to worry about a lost set of notes. plus you should pat yourself on the back as at least you do do something there is a lof of parents who do nothing and complain when things go bad.
LOL…Thanks Glenda!!!
