My husband and I really enjoy going on breakfast dates because our kiddos are in school (so we don’t have to pay for baby sitting) and the pricing of breakfast is iusually less expensive than lunch and dinner. Plus, we do them early enough so that it doesn’t interfere with work. Since we don’t get to do them often, we like to try new restaurants and now there is a new one on our breakfast date list, First Watch The Daytime Cafe.
A few weeks ago, a group of us bloggers were invited to go to First Watch in Boca Raton to try out their new fall flavors. As soon as I stepped inside, I felt welcomed. It was nice, clean and a place I would feel comfortable bringing my family too.
While we waited for the bloggers to arrive, I was offered a hot chocolate by our incredibly friendly waiter, whom you can tell loved what he did. I gladly accepted and it was definitely a nice way to start my day.
Once we were all there, I quickly realized that I was the only person there who hadn’t eaten at First Watch before. I’m not sure how I missed it considering they have 116 locations, one of which is actually right near my house. It’s the weirdest thing because later that same day I was driving in the shopping plaza near my home and I see a First Watch sign. I couldn’t believe I had driven by it so many times without noticing it. I’ve really got to start paying attention to my surroundings!
While I do enjoy a good pumpkin pie, I am not a big pumpkin in everything I eat and drink kind of person BUT I did try pumpkin pancakes and they were good! Their other 2 new fall menu items are roasted butternut squash quinoa bowl and butternut squash soup.
In the interest of research (that’s what I keep telling myself), I ordered a little bit of everything. I tried their fried eggs, pancakes, bacon, seasoned potatoes, toast and french toast…all of which were yummy.
One dish you have to try is the Floridian French Toast®. It is sourdough French toast with wheat germ and powdered cinnamon sugar, covered with fresh banana, kiwi and berries. It was delicious!!!!
The cool thing about First Watch is that they have healthy options that are served fresh and hot (when applicable of course), so everything is prepared as you order it. The only item they prepare ahead of time is their Chicken Salad. I also like that if there happens to be a wait for your table, they have coffee outside for you to drink while you wait.
While you are there be sure to look at their Chalkboard for the latest updates.
So whether you’re a fan of breakfast or lunch be sure to check out First Watch The Daytime Cafe. My hubby and I will be going to check it out together on one of our upcoming breakfast dates (which I hope is sooner than later) especially now that I know I have one right down the street from me.
Disclosure: I was invited to attend a blogger breakfast event at First Watch The Daytime Cafe in order to check out their new fall flavors. ALL opinions are my own.
