I was excited when I was given the opportunity to do a review of the Chevy Equinox not only because I think it’s awesome but also because we were taking a trip to Valdosta, GA to check out the Wild Adventures Theme Park on Memorial Day Weekend.
We drive a Dodge Durango and it can be quite the gas guzzler. Valdosta, GA is over 425 miles away (Yikes!), so I was looking forward to saving money on gas with the Equinox being that you get an estimated 22/32 miles per gallon on the city/highway. So we packed up and loaded up the spacious trunk (as you can see in the picture below) and headed off towards Georgia. I must mention that we filled up the tank before leaving and paid about $55 (when I would have normally paid $80) and we basically made it to Georgia on that same full tank of Gas which was pretty amazing!!
It was going to be a long 6 hour drive and there was 5 of us in the car (I know, I know, we are brave, although some would say we were crazy) and my hubby is a tall guy, 6’6 to be exact. Needless to say, space and leg room are big issues for our family especially on a road trip. We needed to comfortably accommodate both his long legs and my kiddos in the car seat. Plus, my daughter gets her height from her daddy which sometimes proves to be quite tricky! BUT my husband was not only able to sit in the back seat comfortably, he still had some leg room. He also sat comfortably in the front passenger seat, so I knew both my daughter and my hubby would be fine and that was a major relief! I really amazed at how roomy it is, it’s definitely offers more leg room than my Durango does. (Sorry, “comfortable” was used way too many times in this paragraph…but, that really is the perfect word to use)
The Chevy Equinox is nice and sleek! The one we received was silver but there are over 12 colors to choose from. Check out the video below to see its exterior features (Click HERE if you are unable to view the video):
I love all the Modern & Techy gadgets in addition to the space that you find inside the Equinox. Some of its features include:
- Chevrolet Mylink which connects your phone to your vehicle, streams pandora, helps with hands-free calling by integrating your contacts & More!
- Acoustic laminated glass to reduce noise
- Multi-Flex Sliding Rear Seat (39.9 inches of leg room for back seat riders)
- 6 airbags (nice safety feature)
- Pioneer Audio System that can be used from the touch-screen interface and/or steering wheel.
- OnStar

Honestly, the feature I really loved as the various ways you can open the trunk! (I know, it’s the simple things that amuse me!). Watch the video to see why I love it…
I LOVED the Chevy Equinox and was really sad to have to give it back!
*I was provided with a Chevy Equinox for 1 week to facilitate my review. No compensation was given. All opinions are 100% my own, as always!
