Zachary Levi returns as the lightning-powered hero in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, and he’s as charming and hilarious as he was when we fell in love with this character in the first film. Reunited with his team and foster siblings, each one does a great job in their role. Although I do tend to find the younger versions of their character to be the most entertaining, especially Freddy Freeman. He is so funny that he is sometimes a scene stealer, and I am not mad about it.
At its core, Shazam! Fury of the Gods is a story about family and the power of love and acceptance. The bond between Billy and his foster siblings is as strong as ever, and their journey to discover their own unique strengths and abilities is both heartwarming and hilarious. I only wish that the villains and their storyline would have been more interesting. Nonetheless, the film was entertaining and definitely worth the watch…even if it wasn’t better than the first one.
So, if you’re looking for a movie that’s equal parts action, humor, and heart, then Shazam! Fury of the Gods is the perfect pick.
