As my kiddos prepare to go back to school next Monday, I realized that I not only survived summer with the kids being home BUT I truly enjoyed my time with them.  I am going to miss them!

Summer with my kids - TM2S

When the school year ended and summer began I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from a summer with the kids being home.  I got the feeling that my summer would be filled with my kids arguing, yelling, rough housing, saying “I’m Bored” or “Mami” way too often and I was right, but it was also filled with so much more!   My summer with the kids being home was also filled with my kids snuggling with me, giving me hugs and kisses, telling me they love me or that they had the best day ever.  I got to see their beautiful smiles and hear their laughter every time we had a new adventure.  Most importantly it was filled with incredible memories that I will cherish forever!

I don’t want you to think that it was always rainbows and butterflies because it wasn’t.  During that first week I thought a summer with the kids being home would make me lose my mind (even my pastor’s wife was praying for me).  I thought there was no way I’d make it through without sending them to summer camp BUT I was wrong (that doesn’t happen often but I can admit it IF it happens…LOL).  Once we found our groove, it gave me hope and we had an incredible summer together.

Our summer was filled with fun summer activities to keep them entertained.  We had created a Summer Bucket List together and thankfully we were able to do most of the things on that list: We went to the movies, Jungle Island, Lion Country Safari, An Airboat Ride, WPB Zoo, a pirate adventure, Swimming, To The Park, A trampoline, Silly String Fight, SeaWorld, Stayed in our pajamas ALL day Universal Studios and Lots more!

While I am going to miss my kiddos when they head back to school, doing all those fun things was EXHAUSTING! Maybe now that they are going back in school I can relax!  What?  A girl can dream can’t she?  There is no relaxing for me…now that the kiddos will be in school I’ll have no more excuses.  I have to get back to work and fix up my house (which includes unpacking from our move back in April).

Now that I think about all that I’ll have to do, maybe my kids should just keep staying home with me. Oh well, I’m just happy that I survived summer with the kids being home!!!!
