UPDATE: The 52 Week Money Challenge & Reverse 52 Week Money Challenge Schedule for 2021 is now available.
I came across this 52 Week Challenge Chart and thought it was a pretty cool idea for saving some money this year. So, I thought I’d make it a bit prettier and share it with you all. I like it because it seems easy enough to do and you’ll have a nice chunk of change by the end of the year.
Each week of the year (52) you save a designated amount (based on the week #) and by the end of the year, you will have saved $1378.00 (that doesn’t include any interest it may accrue if you deposit it into a savings account).
So on week 1, you deposit $1. On week 2, $2, week 19 $19, week 35 $35, and so on and so forth. Just print out the 52 Week Money Challenge and cross off each week as you go along.
You could also work backward and start with an initial savings of $52 so that it only gets smaller as the year goes on (Reverse 52 Week Money Challenge). Plus, with that initial amount, you could deposit it immediately into a saving account since you need a certain amount to get it opened.
I will be doing this….who’s with me? If you are, this week start off with either a $1 deposit or if you are working backward, start with $52. So will you be giving this 52 week challenge a try?
I love this money saving idea.
I love this and I’m doing it right now up to week 4 but I deposit week 5 also
Week 31 should be $496.
Thanks…I will check it out 🙂
I’ve been surfing online more than 4 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all webmasters and bloggers made good content as you did, the web will be much more useful than ever before.
Saving is a definite challenge – always seems that when your on the + side someone gets sick – as is the case for my son and I – Strepthroat. Fifty two week challenge was going well – hopeful and determined. Funny how eliminating coffee/newspapers and saving change can amass a little nest egg. Next spring, family holiday – long overdo….bucket list item to cross off…..Great tips here. Will keep following.

I love this thing! I found it last year, and just continued on. Right now, I have saved up to and including week 63.
That’s awesome!
