When it comes to celebrating our anniversary we like to go with the restaurant that is nice, romantic and if we can swing it we like to go to a restaurant we have never been to before. After all it is a special occasion right? The problem is that we never know where to go. So, after asking around my friend, Susie, suggested that we go to The Melting Pot.
We had heard of The Melting Pot but for whatever reason we had never been there before. Once we made the final decision to go, my husband called and made a reservations and told them we were celebrating our anniversary. Not only were they understanding when we called and said we would be a little late but when we got there they wished us a Happy Anniversary, walked us over to a small booth in the back for privacy (the booth even had curtains you could close for more privacy) and on the table they had put a card that said Happy Anniversary that was signed by all of the staff. It was really sweet and romantic.
As the name suggests the food you eat, except for the salad, is prepared in the pot on top of small stove at your table which makes your dining experience unique. We opted for the four course meal which included:
A Cheese Fondue
You dip bread vegetables and chips into a cheese sauce that you choose. We chose “Fiesta” which had cheddar cheese, salsa and jalapeno peppers (which we didn’t have them put in)
Salad
They have house salads and a caesar salad. I loved the house salad with tangy dressing.
Main Dish…Meat/Fish &Vegetables
You can select from Meat, Chicken, Duck, Seafood & More
You actually cook by put putting the items you selected into boiling water (you can also select the seasoning you want to boil it in. We chose MOJO). Despite the overall process taking some time, it actually works out. If we really wanted to we could have asked for more skewers to cook more at a time.
Chocolate
Now this was delicious. You choose the kind of chocolate you want your treat dipped into. We opted for milk chocolate because I am picky. The treats include strawberries, brownies, pound cake, cheesecake, marshmallows, bananas, and rice krispy treats.
We were stuffed by the time we’re done and we are happy we celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at The Melting Pot.
