Our family has been to quite a few theme parks (which is awesome) but we had never been to Legoland and I really wanted to take my family after some friends who had gone there said it was really fun for kids. So when we were staying at The Nickelodeon Hotel this past April we headed on over to Winter Haven, Fl to check out Legoland.
Legoland truly is a place where kids (and parents) can go and enjoy themselves. They have over 30 Rides and Attractions, 5 shows and 14 Dining Areas for your family to enjoy and that is not including their water park which is open seasonally (you can get their days and hours of operation on their website).
Oh yeah, I can’t forget to mention that you can also do some shopping and check out Cypress Gardens, the historic botanical gardens. My husband really wanted to check that out because he had been to Cypress Gardens as a kid.
Our first ride at Legoland was the Island In The Sky, a 150- foot rotating platform that gave us a view of the entire park and while we enjoyed all of the rides we have our favorites. My 6-year-old daughter really loved the Ford Driving school where she was able to drive in what looked like a mini city that even had street lights and stop signs.
I really liked the Aquazone Wave Racers because my kids wouldn’t stop smiling and since my kiddos love roller coasters, we also loved Project X. As a family it was fun doing the Rescue Academy, we got into a fire vehicle and competed against other families by putting out a simulated “blaze”, let’s just say that you wouldn’t want us to help you in an emergency…LOL. My son even got to meet and take a picture with a Lego Character.
We went on a Saturday, so I was concerned about Legoland being too crowded which would mean having to wait in line forever to ride something but I had no reason to be concerned. The most time we spent waiting for a ride was about 15 minutes and that ride was so fun that it was worth the wait. Actually, the lines were so short that we were able to ride the ones we loved twice.
So if you are ever in the area be sure to stop on by Legoland. If you are planning on going they have some special events coming up:
- 7/4 – 7/6: Red, Brick & Boom
- Weekends in October: Brick-or-Treat
- Select Dates in December: Christmas Bricktacular
- 12/31: Kid’s New Years Eve
Disclosure: My family and I were provided admittance into Legoland to enjoy and also so I could facilitate a review and share it with all of you fabulous readers. ALL opinions are my own.
This looks like so much fun for the family. I would love to take my kids to Lego Land. Thanks for sharing your trip.
My pleasure 🙂
