The Teenage MutantNinja Turtles are back!!!!! If you loved the first movie, you are going to love this movie as well.

There was plenty of action and a ton of laughs but what I really liked was that there were subtle learning messages that reinforced the idea that:

  • Our self-worth is not based on the thoughts of others.
  • You don’t have to change who you are to be accepted.
  • A good team uses everyone’s different strengths, it is not made up of those with the same strengths.

I loved the movie seemed to pay tribute to the Ninja Turtles we grew up watching by including the characters Casey Jones, Krang (who does looks a bit creepy), Bebop and Rocksteady (I really liked their characters). Also, by using the terms “Cowabunga” and “Turtle Power”. Last but not least, by introducing Shredder’s infamous mask.

Other than a few bad words at the beginning of the movie (which I wish they hadn’t used but I don’t think the kiddos even noticed), the movie was totally fine for my kiddos to watch. They really enjoyed it and had a kick watching it in 3D…which by the way I highly suggest you watch the film in 3D as well because I thought it was well done in this movie.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is officially in theaters!

This is one of my favorite scenes from the movie:

*The turtles face a new challenge when Shredder escapes from custody and joins forces with Baxter Stockman, a mad scientist who plans to use a serum to take over the world. Along for the ride are Bebop and Rocksteady, two dimwitted henchmen who provide plenty of muscle. Luckily, the turtles have their own allies in April O’Neil, Vernon Fenwick and Casey Jones, a hockey-masked vigilante. As the pizza-loving heroes prepare for battle, the notorious Krang also emerges to pose an even greater threat.
