Pull-Ups Time to Potty

The potty training journey is an exciting milestone, but parents can find it frustrating because they don’t understand the process…I know I did!

In an effort to make your potty training journey a little easier, check out these 10 potty training tips that may help things go smoother.

Are they ready?

  • Look for signs that they are ready to be potty trained or you will only frustrate yourself and your child.

Routine

  • Have a special toilet for them to use.
  • Use a timer to create consistency of going to the potty. Start off with 15 minutes and increase the amount of minutes as they show signs of being able to hold it longer.
  • Look for indicators that they may have to go to the potty (grabbing themselves or holding their legs together) and then take them to the potty.

Make It Fun

  • Add dye to the water so that when they pee, it changes color. This not only allows you to know that they actually have peed but it also makes it fun for the kiddos.
  • For boys, create a target for them to aim at like cheerios or fruit loops.

Rewards

  • Fill up a treasure chest full of goodies with some of their favorite things.
  • Use positive and encouraging words for each achievement.

Clothing

  • Have them wear loose fitting clothing so that they are able to remove them quickly and with ease.
  • Use Pull-Ups to avoid any accidents and to help make the transition from diapers to underwear feel more natural.

* Pull-Ups® stretchy sides teach toddlers how to take them off and put them back on all by themselves, and easy-open sides make it easy for us parents and your child to check for potty breaks.
