Last week I had the opportunity to be at one of the happiest places on earth…Disneyland!!!!
While I missed my hubby and my kiddos and wished they would have been there to experience it with me, I was soooo excited! Honestly, I felt like a kid again and wanted to see and experience it all. That’s one of the great things about the Disney Parks, you are never too old to enjoy it! I hadn’t been to Disneyland since I was a baby (I won’t share how many years ago that was to avoid depression on my end). Actually, when I told my mom I would be going, she told me that it was there that she came up with my nickname. Apparently she wanted to buy me the Disneyland Mickey Mouse Ears Hat embroidered with my name and felt my name was too long, so it inspired her to give me the nickname my family still calls me today.
We had 3 guides greet us when we arrived at Disneyland, once we separated into groups to check out some of the rides, each group got their own guide, our group had Nathaniel (on the left hand side of the pic). He was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the Park. One thing he shared with us about the type of ride you get to experience has to do with the story being told in that particular ride. Ultimately, each ride is meant to tell a story and the ride has to best reflect the story being told.
I was able to ride on Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones Adventure, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Dumbo the Flying Elephant and Alice in Wonderland. Not to shabby when we had 3 hours to ride as much as possible.
PLUS, we got to see a couple get engaged right in front of the castle! Good thing she said “yes”, if not that would have been awkward!
I had a blast at Disneyland and only wish that my family was there to experience it with me. Guess I have an excuse to go back…
Disclosure: I went on this trip as part of a Disney press trip. All of my travel, lodging and meal expenses were covered by them. No other compensation was received. However, all opinions/thoughts are 100% my own.
