As a parent, nothing makes you happier than to see your child happy. There is just something about a smile on your child’s face that makes everything seem right in the world. This past Friday, I saw a smile on my daughter’s face that nearly brought me to tears. Honestly, it took everything in my power not to cry.
A few months back, my daughter and I were talking about interviews I had done and celebrities I have been able to meet and she told me that there were two celebrities she really wanted to meet, Zendaya and Selena Gomez. Unsure if it would ever happen, because they typically aren’t allowed to come with me, I told her that it would be awesome if she could meet them one day. Although it was a conversation I’d never forget, considering how important it was to her, I didn’t give it much thought after that…unless she brought it up again, LOL.
Until I got the email…
An email inviting me and the kids to participate in an interview with Selena Gomez for her role as Mavis in Hotel Transylvania 2. It was one of those emails I had to read multiple times just to make sure I hadn’t misread it.
I couldn’t believe it! An interview with Selena Gomez. An interview with Selena Gomez with the kids!!! I was so excited for my baby girl!
Once I received the confirmation, I wanted to tell her. But how? I bought her a new outfit for the interview (which she ended up not wearing anyways), so I figured I’d tell her why I had bought her the outfit and capture her reaction on video. Not the best plan but she was so excited when I told her that she didn’t know how to react…
*I ended up cutting out the part where she jumps for joy because of the price tag she had hanging from under her arm. See why it wasn’t the best plan?
By God’s grace, I made one of my daughter’s bucket list items happen and as a mom, that makes me so happy elated!
My baby girl…
Sat right next to Selena Gomez during the interview.
Asked Selena a question (Selena not only answered but she also called her a cutie).
Took a photo with Selena Gomez
Hugged her (Selena hugged my daughter when I told her that meeting her was on my baby girl’s bucket list).
Do you see why I almost cried? My daughter was over the moon with happiness and as a result so was I.
My Daughter Meeting Selena Gomez Was A Dream Come True!
*My little man also wanted to take a picture with Selena by himself (he ain’t no fool) and he also came up with his own interview question for her. #ProudMom
Be sure to watch Hotel Transylvania 2 when it comes out in theaters this Friday!!!
Selena seems so sweet and great with kids! What a great role model!
