While in LA, I was able to watch the first episode of LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures and it was really good. It had me laughing. As a parent, there are times when we are forced to watch a show that we really don’t care for with our children but this is a show that I would willingly want to watch, knowing that we would all enjoy it as a family.
As an added bonus, we were also able to chat with Bill Motz and Bob Roth, the creators, writers and producers of the show and Nicolas Cantu, the voice of Rowan Freemaker.
- Bill and Bob are both Star Wars fans, they know this universe really well. Star Wars is especially special for Bob because his older brother, who is no longer with us, took him to see the movie as a child. Not only did he fall in love with the film, it also set him down his career path.
- Rowan’s character is based on his son, who has ADHD.
- The episodes are meant to be fun. Even the darkest ones are fun & funny.
- One of their biggest challenges has been keeping this show a secret for a year but also Fear…Fear of messing it all up.
- Bill and Bob met at USC and have been working together for 25 years.
LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures will premiere Monday, June 20th at 10:00 a.m. EDT) on Disney XD.
