I am all about romantic comedies. While I have given up hope that my husband will want to watch one with me, my daughter is another story. She gladly joined me to watch Last Christmas, which I totally thought was a romantic comedy. Sadly, it was not.

Last Christmas

I really wanted to like this movie but it under delivered in various ways. There was no real love story, not a lot of comedy moments that had me laughing out loud or at least chuckling and the story line wasn’t the best. I mean some story lines are a bit of a stretch and its OK but in this case, there were inconsistencies and it didn’t give me the closure I needed. I did like the cast though and the chemistry between Emilia Clark and Henry Golding was good.

Henry Golding

*Sorry, I couldn’t resist including this photo of Henry Golding and I

Is this appropriate for kids? Nope. A lot of the content is too mature given its use of bad words and scenes (or at least references of) sexual promiscuity. Even without all that, I don’t think they would even enjoy it.

All in all, I didn’t love it but there were moments I did enjoy. Thinking about watching it? It could make a for a nice Ladies Night In movie if you don’t have high expectations.
