Selena Gomez is a celebrity I have enjoyed watching succeed in both acting and singing, she is quite talented. While she does have a new album coming out in a few weeks, last Friday my kiddos and I got to chat with her about her role as Mavis, in Hotel Transylvania 2 (which is coming out in theaters this Friday).

While I have been blessed to do quite a few celebrity interviews, this one was extra special because my kids were with me and they got to be a part of the interview and ask her questions (more on their thoughts about it soon). Simply watching her engage with the kids, you can tell that she is passionate about her career and such a sweetheart.

Here’s what Selena Gomez had to say during our Hotel Transylvania 2 Interview…

  • My daughter asked her if she enjoyed acting or singing more, which she responded with “This is such a hard question. I love both…when I become older, like marriage status which we won’t talk about right now, I think that is when I will lean towards acting.” *At this point she said my daughter was cute (I happen to agree with her!).
  • My son asked what her favorite song was and she said “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” by Judy Garland.
  • She was 7 years old when she started acting…Her mom did a lot of theater and she asked if she could do it and she did.
  • Her mom is her hero and she greatly admires her. She has her mom read the scripts and will often call her for advice.
  • Took about a week to voice Mavis for Hotel Transylvania 2, the first movie took longer because they were developing her character.
  • She love how the movie focuses on accepting people’s differences which she feels is extremely important.
  • When it comes to friends there are certain things she looks for…She looks for friends that are real and honest with her. She suggests that we should be aware of who we are around.
  • If she had to choose her favorite monster, she admits that she is biased towards Dracula but growing up she did love the movie The Mummy.
  • While the first movie has a special place in her heart, she loves the second film because it has a real family feel to it.

Hotel Transylvania 2 will be in theaters this Friday!
