I love the Fast and the Furious movies, specifically Vin Diesel in them, so when I heard that they would be doing a movie about Hobbs and Shaw without Dominic, I had mixed emotions. Don’t get me wrong, I knew I would be watching it no matter what. After all, it still has amazing characters in it like Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham and Idris Alba….like I said, AMAZING! If you love car chases, fighting, things blowing up and some comedic banter, you are going to want to see Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.
I loved the action and just like all of the Fast and the Furious movies, some scenes seemed way to unbelievable but I am used to it and I don’t mind it. What I wasn’t a fan of was some parts of the scenes in Samoa. Some of it seemed unnecessary and with an already long movie, the film could have done without it. The on screen chemistry between Dwayne and Jason was great! Their constant insults towards each other made for quite a few good laughs. Oh and I gotta say that Idris as a bad guy, totally worked.
Is it kid friendly? My kids are 10 and 13 years old and I wouldn’t allow them to see it because of its excessive cursing and violence not because they can’t handle it, more because I am just not comfortable with it. So, it is up to you to decide but I wanted you to know what to expect.
Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw is in theaters on August 2, 2019.
