I was a big fan of the show Desperate Housewives and if you watched that show the names, Eva Longoria (She played Gabrielle on the show) and Marc Cherry (the shows creator) should sound familiar to you. Well Eva & Marc have partnered together again for a new show on Lifetime called “Devious Maids”. While Marc Cherry is Devious Maids’ creator, this time Eva Longoria is not one of its cast members, she is actually an executive producer of the show (Way to go Eva!).

Devious Maids Big Screen

This past week I had the chance to check out Devious Maids pilot episode on the big screen before its scheduled premiere on Sunday, June 23 at 10 PM / 9 PM Central on Lifetime. To make it sweeter, 2 of it’s cast members (Roselyn Sanchez & Dania Ramirez) were there at the screening and we got to do a Q & A session with them afterwards.

Devious Maids Actresses

The pilot episode wastes no time in giving us a mix of drama and mystery all while introducing us to each character, each of whom are very unique and have their own story to be told. Interestingly enough, despite what the name of the show suggests, I don’t see these maids as devious. I’m not saying their innocent (I mean who is) but I see them as women who are doing what they feel they need to do to protect their families when pushed and one or two who are looking out for themselves, but there’s gotta be at least one right?

Devious Maids

There appears to be a lot of buzz about Devious Maids not only because of its name (which I don’t quite understand) but also because it’s the 1st show on TV (not on a Spanish channel) to have an all Hispanic lead cast: Ana Ortiz, Roselyn Sanchez, Judy Reyes, Dania Ramirez and Edy Ganem.

I will be setting my DVR to record Devious Maids and you should tune in to check out their first episode to see if you should do the same.

Disclosure: I was invited to attend a screening of Devious Maids in order to facilitate my review with no obligation to post. However, I like sharing information with you all and ALL opinions are my own.
