We love the movie Despicable Me and we have watched it so many times that we know most of the lines. Yes, we love it that much! So, you can imagine our excitement leading up to watching Despicable Me 2 (now officially in theaters) and our excitement when my kiddos, my mom and I actually went to watch Despicable Me 2 at a pre-screening last week.

While Gru was pretty Despicable in Despicable Me (hence the name of the movie) in this film he isn’t Despicable as he once was, i actually don’t think he is despicable at all. After all, his priorities have changed now that he is a dad. However, it is Gru’s knowledge of being Despicable that sets him off on a new career path towards helping the world once again.

As if trying to save the world isn’t stressful enough he is also dealing with the needs of his 3 girls which include his eldest daughter, Agnes, growing up and liking boys (which is ever father’s nightmare) and the girls needing a Mom in their life (which means they are encouraging Gru to date in the midst of everything else he has going on).

Thankfully all of these “issues” are kept light hearted through humor, as evident with all of the constant laughter from both children and adults in the theater. It is so cute to see how much Gru loves those girls and how they have truly become a family.

I LOVE the minions (who doesn’t) and they really make the movie. In Despicable Me 2, I feel like their characters are focused on more and since they are all so funny it keeps us laughing most of the time. I would love have to have a minion or two!

We LOVED Despicable Me 2!! It is such a cute and funny film that the entire family will definitely enjoy watching. I’m only sad that my husband wasn’t there to watch it with us since he has been looking forward to watching it as much as were. I guess we will have to go back and watch Despicable Me 2 Again….LOL.
