On Tuesday nights, once the kids are snuggled up in bed (or my wonderful hubby is making sure they are) you’ll find me snuggled up in bed watching ABC Family’s newest show, Chasing Life.It has quickly become one of my favorite shows which is why I was thrilled when we got the chance to meet and chat with some of its cast while I was in LA.
Chasing Life is a show about a young journalist who at the prime of her life finds out she has Leukemia. Determined to fight it and not let it change her life (too much) we get to see how she copes with the news, how it affects her choices and her family and how they pull together. I’m amazed at how they are able to cover such a sensitive topic accurately and in such a way that you aren’t depressed by the end of the episode.
While I usually cry at some point during the episode (you would think I would remember to have a tissue ready), I also do a lot of laughing and smiling. Not to worry, while dealing with cancer is at the center of the story, there is plenty more going on like various romances, an affair that led to an illegitimate child and more.
I love the cast and feel that Italia (the main character, April) does an incredible job especially with the heaviness that comes along with accurately portraying someone who has cancer. I also love the grandma who is played by Rebecca Schull.

It sounds like a pretty good show. And, it’s on a local station. We don’t have cable t.v. so I miss a lot of the new shows that I hear about.
I love this show…it is amazing and my sister in law just beat leukemia also so our family can relate to this!
