The Carnival Sunshine made its way on over from New Orleans to its new home Port Canaveral!

Carnival Sunshine Port Canaveral

In celebration of it’s arrival, my family and I were invited to set sail aboard the Carnival Sunshine on a 2 day inaugural cruise to Freeport Bahamas.  My family and I had a blast on the last Carnival Cruise we went on so of course we said “Yes”.

While on board, I learned that the Carnival Sunshine ship used to be the Carnival Destiny and it has been completely remodeled, renovated and of course, renamed. It actually only took 75 days to renovate (which is not a lot of days when it comes to the kind of renovations they did).

It was a $155 million dollar transformation that included expanded dining options, innovative bar concepts, new entertainment experiences and a redesigned pool and outer deck.

The Carnival Sunshine also has one of the biggest water park play areas. It also has one of the largest adult area on the sea. So there really is something for both kids and adults. I actually rode one of their water slides, the Twister, but I couldn’t take my camera on it with me.

I did film us having fun on the smaller slides as I raced my son. Here’s one of my favorite videos of it…

On our last night aboard the Carnival Sunshine, I had the chance to dine at JiJi Asian Kitchen which I will discuss more at length in a future post. I brought that up to share that after eating, I discovered a fun and sanitary way to wash my hands. Check out my video below.

My family and I had a blast aboard the Carnival Sunshine and look forward to another cruising adventure!
