With so many blended families in today’s day in age, if I were to try and define “La Familia de Hoy” (today’s family) it might be difficult. I’d focus on the “what” rather than the “who”. What makes a family? What are we as adults teaching the younger generations within our family?
So after some thought, here what I came up with. A family, is made up of people who share mutual love, care and concern for one another. Those people in your life that only want what’s best for you, cheer your accomplishments and lift you up when you are down. Most importantly, a family is not bound together by the blood running through their veins but by an unconditional love that helps your bond flourish.
As the adults in today’s family dynamics, it is important that we use the time we have together to pass along our values, love on one another as much as possible, create memories together that will last a life time and teach our children how to be good and loving members of society. How would you define “La Familia de Hoy”?
Johnson & Johnson and Univision have teamed up to find an authentic, modern and active family to become the “La Familia de Hoy” (Today’s Family) spokesfamily for Johnson & Johnson in 2014 and they have narrowed it down to three families. These families are competing for the title of “La Familia de Hoy.”
Let me introduce them to you: The Olivera family, the López family and the Jiménez family. While they each represent Today’s family in their own way, I am rooting for The Lopez family because the mom is a stay-at-home mom (which is so important and no easy task) and they value family time together which is why you’ll find them spending their weekend with family.
