While Julia Jones has been keeping quite busy during the quarantine playing puzzles, playing the piano again and staying connected with loved ones, she did take the time to briefly speak with me about her most recent role in Think Like A Dog.
Julia Jones was excited to be a part of Think Like A Dog not only because of the message behind the film but also because when she read the script, she really responded to it because she grew up with a dog she was very connected to. It also provided an opportunity to do a comedy, which is out of the norm for her. I mean you may recognize her from an episode on a little show called The Mandalorian (fear not, I asked her about that as well).
So what did I learn about Julia Jones and her experience with Think Like A Dog? Here you go…
- Julia thought Josh was a brave guy when asked about his dance moves in the film. She went on to say that he was also very funny.
Fun Fact: Gil would get down all 4 and act like a dog while they were filming.
- Working with dogs on set was a lot of fun for her.
- One of the themes she loves the most about this move is that it’s about love and connection.
Fun Fact: Julia did a play in 2nd grade and she had a moment on stage that she realized that she wanted to do that for the rest of her life. After trying various things, she made her way back into acting.
- Julia’s process for getting into character varies with each character. Spending time with Brian was important because thy had a good dynamic on screen that imitates their dynamic off screen as well.
About being a part of The Mandalorian
She had no idea going into Mandalorian how big it would be but from the moment she had a Zoom session with Bryce Dallas Howard she knew it was special. Unanimous sense of excitement while filming. It was an extraordinary experience. It’s success makes perfect sense to her. Working with Baby Yoda was also an incredible experience.
Think Like A Dog is now available and if you haven’t already watched it with your kiddos, you should. Of course you can check out my official Think Like A Dog movie review for all my thoughts about the film.
More about Think Like A Dog
Josh Duhamel and Megan Fox star in this whimsical family comedy about a boy and his dog, and a science project that will change all of their lives forever. Think Like a Dog follows 12-year-old Oliver, a tech prodigy whose middle-school science fair experiment goes awry, creating a telepathic connection between him and his furry friend, Henry. The bond brings Oliver and Henry even closer as they join forces to comically overcome complications at school, and help Oliver’s parents rekindle their marriage along the way.
