I love me some Kevin Hart, there is something about him that brings a smile to my face, so when I saw the previews for his latest movie, The Upside, I was curious to see how he would do in a more serious role. I figured that he would find a a way to bring humor to this movie, and he did but it is definitely not a comedy.

The Upside

What starts off as a means to an end between two people looking to benefit from an arranged working relationship ends up being one of the best things to happen to them. Their rocky relationship and the dialogue that comes from it leads to the comedic and heart warming parts of the film. The Upside is a reminder that you can find what you need in the most likely of friendships and that sometimes what you need is right in front of you the whole time.

Is this movie appropriate for kids? I don’t think that it is geared towards them or that they would even enjoy it. That was long way for me to say No, it is not appropriate for the kiddos.

The Upside is in theaters on January 11, 2019.
