The Secret: Dare to Dream reminds you that obtaining your dreams is possible…in any stage of life.

dare to dream

The Secret: Dare to Dream reminds you that life isn’t easy but that you shouldn’t give up on your dreams because they may very well come true (even if it doesn’t happen how you expected). I am not sure if this movie was meant to be inspirational or romantic (maybe both?) because it favored one more that the other but I can say that it was refreshing to watch a film that isn’t laced with mature content so that the whole family can watch.

Although the love angle was predictable the rest of the story line was good. They did a good job of allowing “the mystery” of why Bray was there to unfold throughout the film. I just wish there were sparks between Miranda (Katie Holmes) and Bray (Josh Lucas) but there was something missing that left me unmoved by their connection or the one they should have shared. Being a big fan of Dawson’s Creek, I felt Katie Holmes reverted back to her character, Joey, for this role which was OK when she was a teen but less so when you are a middle aged woman with 3 kids.

So should you watch the movie? Sure. Like I said it was a feel good movie and we can use some of that these days. I am not sure if I would watch it again or add it to my collection but all in all I enjoyed the film. The Secret: Dare to Dream is now available on Video On Demand.

The Secret: Dare to Dream

Based on the groundbreaking best-selling book about the law of attraction by Rhonda Byrne, The Secret: Dare to Dream follows Miranda (Katie Holmes), a young widow trying to make ends meet while raising her three children and dating her boyfriend (Jerry O’Connell). A devastating storm brings an enormous challenge and a mysterious man, Bray (Josh Lucas), into Miranda’s life. Bray reignites the family’s spirit but, unbeknownst to Miranda, also holds an important secret — one that will change everything. With its timeless messages of hope, compassion, and gratitude, The Secret: Dare to Dream is an inspiring and heartwarming film that shows how positive thoughts can transform our lives.
