After screening Rio 2 (which you definitely should see when it comes out in theaters on 4/11) my sister and I headed on over to the Fountainbleau hotel for the Rio 2 Blue Carpet Event.
When we arrived there the first thing that caught my attention were the beautiful samba dancers on the dance floor.
My friend and I couldn’t resist taking a pic with one of the dancers.
After I scoped out the food and tried a few of their beef empanadas (which were yummy and I wish I had grabbed more of) I made my way over to the velvet rope so that I could get a good look at the cast members as they walked in. It was so cool seeing them so close…
Janelle Monae was the first to arrive
George Lopez (Rafael) was also there
Jake T. Austin (Fernando) looked handsome in his blue suit. I actually passed by him at the movie theater earlier and said “Hi” to which he actually responded with a “Hi”. I know, I know. I am a nerd.
Anne Hathaway (Jewel) looked beautiful in her Rio 2 inspired dress and shoes!
Kristin Chenoweth (Gabi) was smiling from ear to ear the whole time.
Jemaine Clement (Nigel) also made his way through the blue carpet.
Tracy Morgan (Luis) arrived with his family. He also took the time address his fans and take a few pics with them.
Andy Garcia (Eduardo) has a presence about him.
Jamie Foxx (Nico) arrived with his children.
Rodrigo Santono (Tulio) arrived and the ladies went crazy (I almost went deaf in my left ear)
At one point the cast finished making their way through the blue carpet and came down towards the dance floor where the Samba dancers would be attempting to set a new Guinness World Record. I am happy to share that they completed their mission and a new Guinness World Record was set that night.
Right after the dance a special Rio 2 concert began. It started with Janelle Monae taking the stage and singing Rio 2’s featured song, “What Is Love?”
At one point during the concert Andy Garcia was on stage playing the Bongos.
My sister and I had a great time at the Rio 2 Blue Carpet Event!!!!
Looks like a great time…I wish I could have gotten in on this action!! I did see the screening of the movie last night at Aventura, and it’s all thanks to you. Thank you, so much!! I really enjoyed the movie as did my guest.
So glad you enjoyed the movie! I am looking forward to seeing it again 🙂
Y’all just have so much fun and get to see the greatest things and people. I wish i had what it takes to be a blogger.
I love what I do!
That’s so awesome – looks like a fun event. I love the costumes on the dancer – long ago i wanted to do that but never made it. I’m looking forward to seeing this movie.
