Visiting New York has been on my daughter’s bucket list for some time, so when I got the invitation from Paramount to visit the Clifford movie set with my kids while they were filming in New York, I was thrilled. Not only would my kiddos be getting the chance to see a book they loved reading as a child being brought to life but they would get to do it in New York City! Needless to say, all of us were very excited! How could we not be?
As soon as we arrived at the studio, we were taken in to the Red Room where we were able to watch them film a scene. While I can’t give you the details about what we saw, it was so cool to see how the magic happens.
Our day also included chatting with some of the cast, all of whom were super sweet. More about our interviews with Darby Camp (Emily), Jack Whitehall (Uncle Casey) and Izaac Wang (Owen Yu) in the future. Of course, we were actually able to go on set in between filming. We toured Emily’s apartment. We were also able to see them build Owen’s Apartment (which you can see in the video below).
Getting to experience do the Clifford movie set visit with my kids was pretty amazing. They not only got to experience part of what goes into making a movie but they also got to see me do my job.
One of the other great things about our Clifford movie set visit experience was that my daughter was so inspired by our visit that she has added being a storyboard artist to the list of potential careers. She is quite the talented artist, so I loved her being able to see what she can do with her talent.
