It doesn’t matter hold you are, stuffed animals are loved and treasured by both kids and adults. Each stuffed animal is unique in it’s own way and may represent a certain achievement, occasion and symbol. However, getting one that is made specifically for you makes is all the more special. That is why I love Build-A-Bear Workshop!

From the moment you step inside, you know that you are going to walk out with a special friend and a smile. Actually, with all the excitement you walk in with a smile as well. My kiddos were very excited about their Build-A-Bear Workshop adventure!

We were greeted by a cheery staff member, Nina, who has actually worked there for many years (each time she returns back from school). She gave us a tour of the store and then we got started.

“Choose Me”: You start off by choosing the type of friend you’d like to have from a nice selection of animals. My daughter loves Hello Kitty so the choice was easy. Some of their selection is seasonal, like my son’s choice. He chose Rudolph the red nose reindeer because it’s nose lights up. If your child has allergies, they do have a Sweet Velvet Teddy that is asthma & allergy friendly.

“Hear Me”: You can give your new friend a voice. They typically have 16 sounds to choose from and you decide how many to add. My favorite is being able to record your own voice…you can send someone a personalized message if it’s a gift or capture your child’s voice.

“Stuff Me”: This is the fun part because you bring your friend to life and the kids are intricately involved in making that happen. My kiddos got to choose if they wanted their friend hard or soft (to determine how much stuffing they want in there) and then they let my kiddos press the foot pedal to add the stuffing themselves. You can also select to add a heartbeat and a scent (even tell them where they want it. Plus, there is a special heart ceremony before putting it in.

“Fluff Me”: Here is where they bathe and brush their new friend before getting them dressed.

“Dress Me”: Now it’s time to clothe and accessorize their new friend. The hard part is choosing what to get for them because their selection is massive. Luckily my kiddos went with what they loved, Hello Kitty for her and Spider-Man for him. They even have under garments!!! If your kiddo shops at Justice they can probably find the same outfit for their special friend in Build A Bear’s Justice Line of Clothing.

Once they are done, they go and register their new friend, give it a name and get a birth certificate. If they want to bring them to life, they can visit bearville.com to make that happen.

Whats great is that there is something for everyone’s budget, even their stuffed animal selection. They also had clothing and accessories on sale and clearance.  If you want to do something different and special for a special birthday?? They do birthday parties and you select your budget for that as well.

When you go you are not only getting a new friend, your child is getting an amazing and memorable experience!!!

Disclosure: My family and I were invited to visit Build-A-Bear Workshop in order to facilitate my review. However, ALL opinions are 100% my own.
