My family and I recently visited the most magical place on earth, Disney World, so that we could experience Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party for the first time. I had heard of it but had never been. Just in case you don’t know what it is, it’s a special event that will be taking place at the Magic Kingdom every evening starting at 7 p.m. through 12/20/2013.
We arrived at the Magic Kingdom around 5:30 p.m. because they will allow you into the park earlier than 7 p.m. (I’ve heard of people arriving there as early as 4 p.m.). Once you have your tickets, you’ll be provided with a special Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party wrist band because after 7 p.m., they start checking for them before you get on a ride. This allowed us to enjoy more rides because there were less people and less of a wait time.
Following the advice of an employee, Disney’s “cast members”, we headed towards the left hand side of the park and started with the rides there. They also advised that we attend the 10:30 p.m. parade since people usually attend the one at 8:30 (there are a total of 2 parades). We followed that advice as well, and experienced very little wait time while the first parade was going on.
In addition to the 2 Holiday parades, there are also fireworks for everyone to enjoy at 9:30 p.m. Plus, you and your family get enjoy FREE cookies and hot chocolate…yes, it’s FREE. They also have apple juice and apple slices available. Just look for the big candy canes to find them.
One of my favorite things (besides all the rides we got to enjoy with the lines being so short) was seeing the castle all lit up…it was absolutely beautiful!
As expected from Disney World, our family had a magical time at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and we hope to go again next year.
Disclosure: My family and I were invited to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. However, ALL opinions are my own.

What a great family activity. I wish we were closer to Disney and could attend events like this. So far my boys have not been to Disneyland or Disney World. HOping to go to Disneyland next year.
