I’m always up for an adventure, especially when it’s local so this summer my family and I headed on over to the Miami Seaquarium.
The last time we were there I did the Sea Trek Experience (which is one of the best things I have ever done) and I was able to do the Dolphin Odyssey Experience (which is my favorite animal) but this time we would be swimming with the seals. Once we suited up, we headed on over to a brief orientation and then headed on over to meet the seals.
We started off with free swim with the seals which allowed us to use goggles and swim with the seals also being in the water.
Then we were split into small groups and got to do tricks with the seal which was the best part because we got to…
Hug the seal
Hold the seal
Feed the seal
The seal gave us a kiss
They mentioned a piggy back ride and while I thought they would be giving us one, we actually gave one to the seal
The seal even posed for this pic.
We really enjoyed it and hated for it to finish. My favorite moment was seeing the smile on my 5 year old son’s face because he absolutely loved it.
My 8 year gets nervous around animals BUT she was still able to participate.
Teach Me 2 Save Time, Money and Sanity Tips
- They provide the suits, shoes, towels and lockers for your stuff (They have wet suits for people up to 350 pounds).
- Do not wear jewelry because you’ll have to take it off anyways (unless you just want to keep it in the lockers)
- Invest in the photos. This is a unique and special experience you’re going to want to look back at and also share with family and friends.
So head on over to the Miami Seaquarium for the Seal Swim Encounter. Plus when you do you can also experience the park because that’s included in the price.
Note: My family and I were invited to experience the Seal Swim Encounter. However, ALL opinions are my own.
Wish I could afford to take all my kids now, they would love this. Your pictures are amazing and sounds like such a good time. Maybe next year I will make it there with them.
James, I am sure they’ll love it!
That looks like so much fun. I can imagine they didn’t smell very good though!
Actually, they didn’t smell bad or I may not have been smiling, LOL
I would love to do this! How fun. Thank you for sharing.
THIS LOOKS LIKE REAL FUN–MAYBE SOMEDAY I CAN GET THERE TO SEE THIS MYSELF–THANKS FOR SHARING
What an amazing experience! Seals are so darn cute.
I would of loved to go swimming with the seals but I was always under the impression that they were vicious animals I guess I was mislead. I always thought though that they are an adorable creature.
wow i bet that’s an experience of a lifetime , would love to be able to do that some day 🙂
This looks like an absolute blast & it doesn’t hurt that the seals went all in for the photo ops lol looks like quality time well spent 🙂
What a great way for kids to learn about animals!! I hope that when they grow up they care about animals and the ways animals make this world better.
This does look like a blast! I never heard of it before, it is a must do!
