A romantic comedy poking fun at romantic comedies? Yep! Isn’t It Romantic does just that and I am here for it, especially when its cast includes Rebel Wilson (as Natalie) and Adam DeVine (as Josh). We all know how funny they are (individually and together) and just how great their chemistry is from watching Pitch Perfect.
Isn’t It Romantic did not disappoint. It was cute and made me laugh. I actually love how they playfully made fun of the things I tend to love most about romantic films. Getting to see Liam Hemsworth and Priyanka Chopra on screen with Rebel and Adam was an added bonus…they did a great job with their characters.
Is it appropriate for kids? Although for a majority of the film, there are no curse words Natalie definitely does try to say them but she simply isn’t able to. There are also no sexual scenes it is definitely referenced it and she definitely tries but it doesn’t happen either. That being said, I think this movie is for mature audiences, so I think it is good for older teens.
Whether for a romantic date or a ladies night out, this is the perfect movie to help you celebrate Valentine’s Day this year. Thankfully it is in theaters on February 13, 2019 (talk about perfect timing), so make plans accordingly.
