I’d be lying if I said I was excited about seeing Gran Turismo. I knew it was based on a true story and that it had to do with a popular video game, but I had no idea just how much I would love the movie. It didn’t take long before I found myself invested in the film.
What’s it rated?
Gran Turismo is rated PG-13 for strong language and intense action. So, some content may not be suitable for kids under 13. I would say that kids under the age of 13 would be OK watching the film if you are ok with the occasional curse word and intense car racing scenes. Some of them had me at the edge of my seat.
Let’s talk Content
While there is no sexual content, there are kissing scenes. The film also deals with family issues, death, run ins with the law and drinking. It is a car racing movie, and we all know that car racing can be dangerous. So, be prepared to see some car crashes (because there are a few of those, one of which results in a serious injury).
Does it have any bad words?
Unfortunately, there are a few curse words in the film.
My Overall thoughts
I really enjoyed it and I think you should watch it (in the theaters), even if you aren’t into race car driving and video games. Gran Turismo is well worth the watch and you won’t be disappointed.
What’s It About?
Based on the true story of Jann Mardenborough, the film is the ultimate wish fulfillment tale of a teenage Gran Turismo player whose gaming skills won a series of Nissan competitions to become an actual professional racecar driver.
