In the event you are hosting your very own Super Bowl party, here are some tips and suggestions on how to host a Fabulously Frugal Super Bowl party.

Frugal Super Bowl Party Tips TM2S

***You’ll first need to start by creating a budget and sticking with it. Figure out how much you want to spend, create a shopping list and don’t stray off the list no matter how tempting it is.

When it comes to the menu, consider doing the following…

Ask that everyone bring something

It is o.k. to ask everyone to contribute. Make a list of what food you’d like to have at the party. Then, figure out what’s most important and decide if you will handle that and if not, start designating specific items to people on your guest list. If your party won’t be the same without a specific menu item, assign it to the most reliable person attending that way you know they will bring it.

Focus on appetizers

Not only are they easier to ask guest to bring and offers more of a selection

Make items instead of buying them pre-made

In some cases you end up spending less money. Such items include: Bean Dip, Deviled Eggs, Pasta Salads, Deli Platters & Vegetable platters. For the Deli Platters & Vegetable platters, simply buy deli meats, cheeses and various vegetables and separate them onto a platter. It’s fairly easy and saves you quite a bit of money.

Buy Bigger Bottles of Drinks

Save money on Drinks by opting for Soda bottles instead of soda cans because guests end up wasting more soda when drinking from the cans. The same goes for juice and water, buy the bigger bottles instead of individual bottles.

Make Your Own Ice

Instead of buying ice, consider storing ice away in plastic bags in your freezer starting now (if space allows for it) so that you end up buying less bags of ice or no ice at all. Furthermore, if you are using plastic cups, have markers available so that people can write their names on it. For the kids, they can use stickers to identify their cups. By doing this, you avoid wasted cups and drinks.

Decorate on a Budget

Last but not least, you’ll need some decorations but don’t go overboard and no need to spend a lot on them either. Go to the Dollar Tree or any dollar store for decoration and tableware. I have seen football plates, cups, balloons and other football decorations there.
