Although a beach is easily accessible to us, you won’t normally find us there. However, a few weeks ago my family and I stayed at Pineapple Place in Pompano Beach, a beach vacation rental, that allowed us to enjoy the beach and pool life with the comforts of home.

From the moment we stepped inside, we felt at home. It was spacious and clean with its own living room, full kitchen, dining area and a room for the kiddos (with bunk beds and their own bathroom) and a room for my hubby and I. Each room had its own TV with satellite channels (in addition to the TV in the living room) and the kids immediately spotted the games in the living room and wasted no time taking it to their room to play (which allowed my hubby and I to relax and watch TV with no interruptions). Had we spent more time at Pineapple Place, I would have probably read 1 of the books available. Probably…

Having a kitchen allowed us to save money on meals (even though we did order in 1 night) and we used the grill outside to make hamburgers and hot dogs while the kids swam.

While Pineapple Place is not directly on the beach, it is a short walk away and our “apartment” had beach towels, beach chairs and a cooler for us to use during our stay. When I say “short walk”, I think it took us about 5 minutes to get there (and we would have gotten there sooner if not for the kiddos taking their time).

Compared to other beaches Pompano Beach is very nice, the fact that it was recently renovated adds to its appeal, and it wasn’t congested. Even with its beauty, we weren’t there long because the kiddos wanted to go back to the pool (which they had spent the entire day in the day before).

I loved that while we were at the beach, I didn’t have to worry about carrying keys around because their properties have keyless entry using a code you select prior to your arrival. Quite convenient.

There are actually 6 properties you can choose from and if you wondering which property suits you and your family best, I highly suggest that you give them a call so they can make suggestions for you. That’s part of their charm, a personal touch. Elaine, the owner, wants your time at one of their locations to be a great experience which is why she makes the effort to meet you when you arrive (just in case you have any questions or need anything), they provide a thick notebook full of suggestions/brochures of places to eat or places to go (along with some attraction coupons). I even received a Thank You card from them after my stay.

Needless to say my family and I really enjoyed staying at Pineapple Place! Actually, my dad and his family stopped by on one of the afternoons and they loved it so much that his wife went online to try and book a room for their birthday weekend while she was there. It’s a great place for get togethers and family reunions.
