Never would I have imagined that I would be walking a red carpet world premiere along side (o.k., o.k., in back of) some amazing celebrities but yet there I was this past Wednesday night doing just that in L.A. at the El Capitan Theatre for Disney’s newest movie, Oz The Great and Powerful.

If it wasn’t for the fact that I have pictures and a video of me being there (because of an unintentional photo/video bomb), I would not have believed it myself.

I am directly behind Mila Kunis with my back to her for pics of me

I also appear in the last part of the video (starting at around 1:20)

It was amazingly surreal to be so close to Rachel Weisz, Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams, James Franco, Zach Braff, Donald Faison & Wayne Brady. I strutted my stuff (well, I walked along very carefully as to not eat it in front of all the cameras), took as many pictures as I could of both myself and the actors and tried to take it all in.

Pics captured by me of the celebs James Franco, Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis, Wayne Brady & Rachel Weisz from the The Oz The Great and Powerful World Premiere

Even though I made the best of every moment and extended it as much as possible (despite being told by security to “keep it moving”) it seemed to happen so fast…but I am not complaining because I recognize what a blessing it was to have been invited to attend.

More pics of me on the red carpet

The inside of El Capitan Theatre is so fancy (nothing like the movie theaters we go to here) and while we waited they had an organist playing Disney Movie Theme Songs which was pretty cool.

After we watched Oz The Great and Powerful (my review to come later) we headed on over to an after party at Lure Nightclub for the film and got to see the main actors again along with Ashton Kutcher, Steven Weber and Dave Franco.

While I was there I was able to chat with Joey King, who plays China Girl in the film.  She is such a sweetie!

I also recognized (because I am a mom) 2 of Disney’s Dog with a Blog Cast: Blake Michael & Francesca Capaldi and they were kind enough to take a pic with me because I knew my kid would love it.

That whole night was incredible (despite being incredibly tired from the flight and time difference). Stay tuned for more posts from the trip like celebrity interviews!

Movie Synopsis:

When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great wizard but into a better man as well.
