Last week my kiddos and I headed on over to BANG Glass, a fused glass art studio and showroom located in Boca Raton for a Fused Glass Art Class.
My 9 year old daughter was excited from the moment I told her what we’d be doing. On the other hand, my 6 year old son assumed it would be boring (which happens to be his favorite word for everything these days) and of course he was wrong, he loved it! They both did!
When we arrived we were greeted by BANG Glass designer and instructor, Scott Avidon who started off by giving us a tour of the studio so that we could learn more about the process and ask questions if we wanted. The process is really interesting. After the tour, they got to work on creating their masterpieces. They were given a piece of clear glass as their canvas and glass pieces to create their design.
Getting to see glass in various shapes, colors and sizes and using them to bring my kiddos imagination to life was really cool.
My daughter chose to put random pieces of glass together
My son chose to create a family portrait
Scott Avidon, a graduate of Pratt Institute with more than 15 years of experience in the industry working with such brands as Steuben, Bvlgari, Waterford, Kenneth Cole and Versace is super nice! You can tell that he loves what he does and wants to share that with others. He went out of his way to make the experience special for the kids!
BANG Glass is located at 2600 N.W. 1st Avenue in Boca Raton, is offering classes for children and adults (which is why I’ll be doing a Ladies Night Out there in the near future). Interested in learning more or scheduling a class? You can visit their website or call 561-430-5179.
Note: My family and I were invited to attend this event at BANG glass. However, ALL opinions are my own.
