There are some animated movies that capture my attention from its preview and make me want to see it with the kiddos. Others, don’t. I have to admit that Abominable was one of those films that I thought I could do without but I was wrong. So wrong. I am so glad that my kiddos made me go take them to see it because I loved it. I was so shocked by how much I laughed during the movie, how much it made me feel and how I loved seeing my kiddos enjoy it as well. We loved it.

Abominable

It is a cute story about friendship and adapting to change, even if it is painful. Not only is it visually appealing but it takes you on an adventure. While the story is really focused on Yi, I think they should have delved a little deeper with the other characters and their self discoveries during this journey.

is it good for the kids? I would say yes but it does deal with the loss of a parent and grief so if that can be triggering for a child, I would take that into consideration. All in all, it is a great movie for the kiddos to enjoy. Better yet, it is a great movie for the parents to enjoy with their kiddos and we need more movies like that. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it and I definitely recommend you checking it out when it comes out in theaters on September 27, 2019.
