A Star Is Born wasn’t a movie I had very much interest in watching but I am so glad I went to see it anyways. Even though it isn’t the type of movie I’d normally enjoy, I loved it.
Yes, it has romance but I can’t say that it is a feel good movie because it really isn’t. However, it was such a good story which is probably why they have made 2 other versions of this movie. I haven’t watched the other versions but I am definitely glad Bradley Cooper made this one.
Lady Gaga did such an incredible job in this movie. The role of Ally was meant for her and Bradley Cooper, Jackson Maine, definitely made a good choice casting her as his leading lady. There is Amazing chemistry between the two of them. Ally and Jackson’s love story is both beautiful and tragic. It served as a reminder that love doesn’t always have a happy ending.
I want to be mad at Bradley Copper’s character, but I can’t be. My heart aches for him and the demons he faced. I hope people walk away understand that mental illness is not something we should take lightly and that our words have an impact on the lives of others. Shows you that even one person believing in you can make all the difference.
Is this movie appropriate for kids? Absolutely not. There is a lot of mature content in this movie (language, romantic scenes, drug use and more). While I think there are some valuable lessons to be learned from the movie, everything I mentioned earlier is way too much for the younger kids.
A Star Is Born in theaters on October 5, 2018 and it is definitely worth watching.
