I mentioned before that we had an amazing vacation aboard the Carnival Freedom. A big part of that was the new Camp Ocean, formerly Camp Carnival.

Camp Ocean has a whole new look which is modern and spacious and offers toys, PlayStation 4 & Nintendo Wii consoles for the kiddos to enjoy.
It also offers the kiddos various activities (all of which are ocean themed), which means the kiddos have fun but they also learn something without even realizing it (shh…don’t tell them).
Leading up to the cruise, I was nervous about my son wanting to stay in camp because he hasn’t wanted to in the past (my daughter on the other hand has always loved it). I even went to the Dollar Tree and let him select a toy for every successful (and tear free) day in camp. The first 2 days he went for the toys but after that he didn’t even ask me for his new toy and he was asking us to hurry up and drop him off AND to stay later. He loved it! It helps that the Carnival staff was so sweet. My daughter had to have a picture with some of them on her last day there.
Even I had a little fun in the Penguin area (my son’s area)
One of the features parents really loved was the TV monitors they had outside in the hall way that allowed us to check on your kiddos without being spotted. I loved seeing them enjoy themselves, especially at the beginning of the cruise when you worry about them making friends.
In addition to the newly redesigned camp areas they have also added Dr. Seuss Bookville where you can sit and enjoy Dr. Seuss books (you can read more about it by clicking in the link)
Our kiddos loved it so much that my hubby and I were able to enjoy some alone time as well. Cruises with a great camp for the kids are wonderful like that!
