It’s no secret that my hubby, son and I are superhero fans. Once they announced the making of Thor: The Dark World, I knew that we’d be watching the film as soon as it came out in the theaters. Thankfully, we didn’t have to wait as long because we got to attend the pre-screening of the film this past Tuesday. Yay for date night!
While I enjoyed the first movie, my husband and I both agree that Thor: The Dark World was even better! As my hubby says, Thor: The Dark World is the total package. It has a nice combination of action, comedy and romance for us ladies. The set and costume designs were pretty cool too!
I loved the story line because it keeps you guessing and I also love the chemistry between the actors, especially Thor and Loki. Their constant banter is hilarious!
As far as “villians” go, I find it hard to be rallied against Loki as I would be with any other villain. I realize that I might be biased since I got to meet and interview the actor who plays Loki, Tom Hiddleston, but that aside he does such a good job of being evil with a dimmer of hope that he still has some good in him (just hidden deep down inside). I loved how Thor: The Dark World allows you to see a different side to him especially when it comes to his relationship with his mom. Could there be hope for Loki?
As much as I enjoyed Thor: The Dark World, I wouldn’t let my kiddos (7 & 5 years old) watch it. As the movie’s name suggest, t is dark and some of the fight scenes and villians may be too intense for the kiddos. The “s” word is said twice and although they blurb it out, you can tell one of the actors is naked. However, I always say, to each their own…You know what your kids can handle.
When the movie is done make sure you stay seated once the credits start because there are 2 different scenes you’ll get to watch. One that gives you a glimpse into a possible part 3 and the other that’s a continuation of the movie.
Thor: The Dark World is now in theaters so head on out and watch it! Let me know what you think!
