Summer vacation with my kiddos has been fun because we have done so many cool things together. The only thing we haven’t done yet is travel out-of-state (which is on my summer bucket list) and now that there are only few weeks left to enjoy the summer with them I started thinking about where I’d want to go with my family. One place that immediately came to mind was Wild Adventures because we went last year and we all really enjoyed ourselves.

At that time, my husband and I knew we wanted to do something different with the kids and take them on a road trip out of the state but there were a few factors to consider. We didn’t want to travel too far, we wanted it to be fun for both the kids and us adults and it had to be affordable. So, after my husband did some research he discovered Wild Adventures in Valdosta, Georgia. It’s about a 6 houhttp://teachme2save.com/?p=51441&preview=truer drive from us which really isn’t that bad and it looked pretty awesome since it had rides for every age group, hundreds of animals (50+ species) and they also have a waterpark called Splash Island. That’s a lot of fun in one place!

Once we were there and we saw all there was to do and see we knew we had made the right choice. My kids loved the rides (and so did we) and now that they are older I am sure they will enjoy it so much more… Maybe this time they’ll be able to ride on some of the park’s roller coasters. In addition to the 7 coasters, they also have 33 other thrill rides for your whole family to enjoy. I have to go back and check out their new ride, TailSpin.

As if the theme park wasn’t fun enough there is also a waterpark too. Splash Island is big (17 acres) and features 15 attractions. My daughter was tall enough to go down one of their water slides in a raft with me and she LOVED it! I can still remember her beautiful smile and her laugh as we went down. It was fun! If you’re not into getting wet or going on the attractions, you can also rent cabanas and loungers and just relax.

Wild Adventures also offers concerts and special events throughout the year. You can check out their calendar of events HERE.

We loved it so much that we’ll actually be heading back to Wild Adventures in the near future (if not before summer is over then soon after) and I’ll be posting about our experience. Thankfully, my husband handles most of the planning but if you need help planning your vacation, they’ll help you get your tickets and even help you get a hotel room.
