Whether it is while enjoying a meal or just some light snacks (like popcorn and chocolate), our family enjoys snuggling up with a blanket and a good movie. Growing up, I have always loved Disney movies. Even before having kids of my own, I couldn’t wait to watch the movies I had grown up loving with my own kids. It is something I really wanted to share with them.

Now that the kiddos are old enough to appreciate the movies we watch, I have quite a few in mind that I want us to see.Of course, on the top of the list are my favorites; The Little Mermaid, The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins.  Some of the other classics on the must watch list are Snow White, Pocahontas, Dumbo, Bambi, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?…just to name a few. We’ve already crossed Pinocchio off the list.

Since I don’t have all the Disney classic readily available, I am thankful for DVD.com. I simply log into my account and add the movies to my queue and it ships to me. It’s that easy.

Once I am done with that DVD, I drop it in the mail and another one is sent to me. One of the things I love about getting a physical DVD is that it serves as a reminder to sit down and watch it with the family. Otherwise, I talk about doing it and then something comes up and I forget. I can’t wait to get started!

As I told the kids about all the movies I wanted them to see, they suggested we do themed snacks with each movie. I thought it was a great idea.  Here is what we have come up with so far:

  • Snow White: Apple slices or candy apples
  • Aladdin: Monkey bread
  • Cinderella: Pumpkin Pie or pumpkin bread
  • Dumbo: Peanuts or peanut butter cookies
  • Who Framed Roger Rabbit: Carrot Cake
  • Lady and the Tramp: Spaghetti

Can you think of any other ideas? I’d love to hear them.
