My family and I spent 8 splendid days aboard the Carnival Freedom!
Even with it having been a few weeks ago, we are still talking about what a great time we had.
The Carnival Freedom recently underwent a 70 million dollar Fun Ship 2.0 Transformation that added features in the bar, dining and entertainment areas. Plus their youth programming.
Here’s some of what we enjoyed aboard the Carnival Freedom…
Food
Oh.My.Goodness…I ate like a pig! It’s their fault…they had too many good options.
Breakfast
You could eat in the Posh Restaurant or get a buffet style meal in the Lido deck. There is an omlette station in the back or you can get a breakfast burrito from Blue Iguana Cantina.
We even got to enjoy the Dr. Seuss Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast on our last Sea Day (separate post on this to follow).
Lunch
Buffet in the Lido Deck (Chef Choice, Comfort Kitchen, Mongolian Wok, Pizza Pirate, Carnival Deli, Fish N’ Chips), Burgers from Guy’s Burgers or Tacos & Burritos from Blue Iguana Cantina.
Dinner
In addition to the dining options I listed for lunch (which are also open for dinner), you can do formal dining in the Posh or Chic restaurant which offers daily specials and standard menu options.
One of the nights we were aboard, we enjoyed a steak dinner at the Sun King Steakhouse…which was very, very good!!!!!
Room Service
Room service is available 24 hours a day!! Every night we’d get back to the room around 11 and eat the chocolate cake (a particular one on available through room service), milk, a turkey sandwich and peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Entertainment
There are three pools, two whirlpools and a waterside to keep you cool and entertained. But, if you want to have fun without getting wet, there a ton of things you can do!
We went to comedy shows, attended the shows “88 Keys” &Â “80’s Pop To The Max” (which was awesome if you love 80’s music), played Bingo, enjoyed a massage, took the family to the Hasbro Show and enjoyed the Dr. Seuss Parade. Of course, there are a ton of other things you can do on the ship.
The kids loved the newly redesigned camp, Camp Ocean which allowed my hubby and I to really enjoy alone time and a lot of those activities I mentioned above (Post to follow about Camp Ocean).
Places We Visited
We visited The Grand Turk, La Romana Dominican Republic, Curacao & Aruba! Posts about each of the islands to follow.
It was one of the best vacations we have ever taken…we just loved every single part of it! We were we able to enjoy time together and create memories which is what a vacation should be about.
Note: Although I was invited on a press trip by Carnival, ALL opinions are my own. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
That sounds perfectly lovely, I’m a bit envious! I’ve heard that people often do put on a pound or two on a cruise. The food looks delicious.
I gained like 3 pounds but it was worth it! 🙂
Wow! That cruise looks amazing. I’m glad you had fun!
This sounds like a great cruise, thank you for sharing your review with us!
I don’t know you but you sound like a fun family. I’d love to hang out with you and have a cup of tea or coffee.
Thanks Lisa, I try to have as much fun as possible…life is too short
I would love to go on a 7 night carnival cruise with all my family, fufn for all. 🙂
Oh I love the new entertainment. I love how family friendly Carnival is. I’ve only been on one cruise (Honeymoon) so I say it’s time for another!
