When my daughter was about 3 years old, we surprised her by taking her to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Honestly, it was probably more for us than it was for her and ever since then we have made it part of our yearly tradition to attend. This year it was no different, my daughter even guessed we were going there when we told her we had a surprise for them. This past Thursday, we went to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus and of course my family and I had a great time. This year’s theme was Dragons (every year is different), so of course that peaked the interest of my kiddos, maybe even my hubby as well.

We arrived early enough to enjoy the pre-show. My son was able to sit on a motorcycle, you can try on some of their costumes, the kiddos cab jump in a bounce house and we were all able to watch different acts/performances. One of which was an elephant putting a basketball through the basketball hoop and painting. Oh, we also got FREE clown noses which of course I immediately put on.

The ringmaster, Jonathan Lee Iverson, took us on a journey to summon the mythic dragon

On this journey we saw amazing acts and performances. Some of which included:

Shaolin Warriors from the far East: They performed a martial art called Qigong and it was quite impressive! Through meditation and concentration they were able to break metal bars and wooden oak poles over their heads and bend metal poles around their necks. One of them even jumped through a ring made of sharp knives that was lit on fire.

Hair-Hanging wonders of the West: These 2 ladies perform 35-feet in the air while hanging from their hair! My hubby said they should be doing a Pantene commercial because their hair is so strong…LOL.

Dragon Riders: 8 motorcyclists ride around in a 16-foot globe doing 65 miles per hour while being only 4 inches apart.

Sizzling Sirens of the Sky: Dance up in the air without a wire while being in what looks like a bubble.

**Apparently my daughter was inspired by the Sizzling Sirens

Plus you’ll also enjoy the Scorching Skywheel of the West, Riders of the Wind, The Soaring Scalas & More! Not to mention the various animal acts with elephants, lions, tigers, dogs, cats, etc.

And we can’t forget the Clowns that your child with either love or fear…LOL.

We loved it and we can’t wait until Next Year! Be sure to check it out with your family…you can see if it is coming to an area near you.

Disclosure: I was provided with tickets for my family and I to attend the event in order to facilitate my review. However, ALL opinions are 100% my own.
