I am no stranger to super heroes, my husband has always been a fan (he still gets excited when he gets a comic book in the mail) and my 3 year old son is also a super hero*…I mean super hero lover!
*Everyday my son lets us know which super hero he is for the day…it is no joke in our house…LOL

We have watched every Marvel movie that has been released (which I suggest you do, so you know the history behind this amazing set of super heroes that make up the Avengers, but it is not necessary) from Iron Man, The Hulk, Captain America to Thor and not just once, multiple times and probably will continue to do so. After each of these credits there was a preview for the Avengers movie, each of which left my hubby more and more hyped for it’s May 4th release (This Friday).

I knew I’d be watching it because that’s what a supportive wife does (plus I actually enjoyed all of those films) but I didn’t expect to get to do so at a screening at the Tribeca Film Festival in NY (You can read more about that here). As I mentioned, I had seen the other films and enjoyed them but I wasn’t prepared for how much I would enjoy this film. Actually “Enjoy” doesn’t accurately convey how I felt about this movie…I LOVED IT!! It was Amazing, Entertaining, Extremely Funny!!! I love how EVERYONE can enjoy this movie. Whether you are male or female, young or old”er”, whether you love comic books or have never even heard of one (hey, it can happen), it is a movie that each and every one of us can enjoy…together as family. In a time when everyone seems to have different interest, it’s nice that a film can bring you together even if for only 2 hour and 20 minutes (the film’s running time).

For those of you with small children I should mention that the movie has alot of battle scenes and aliens from another galaxy that can be considered scary looking. My 5 year old daughter will probably look away for some of the scenes, while my 3 year old son may not even blink throughout the whole film (My kids were not with me at the Tribeca Film Festival and have not yet seen the film). As always, you know your child best so you know what they can and can’t handle.

For a movie with so many characters, it is amazing that each one of them is able to shine in such a way that you are able to see each one strength and why they were chosen to be part of The Avengers. I was also impressed with the chemistry between them all and with how well they complimented each other as a team.

I mentioned earlier that my hubby is a super hero fanatic but so is my dad, so I wondered what their reaction to the movie would be when they finally had the chance to see it. They got that chance this past Tuesday and I assumed they would be more critical since they have read various versions of The Avengers…However, they both agreed (which is weird) that it is “The Greatest Movie Ever Made!” So go watch Marvel’s The Avengers this weekend (I would watch it in 3D), you won’t be sorry!!
