Romantic comedies are my jam, so when I saw the preview for Long Shot, I knew it was a movie I wanted to watch. What I didn’t know was how much I would enjoy it. Walking in to the movie, I was expecting to laugh here and there but I had no idea it would be as funny as it was. It had been a while since I have laughed to the point where it makes me cry but I did just that. It was a pleasant surprise given that I thought the only funny part of the film would be the stairs scene I saw in the trailer.

Comedy is embedded throughout the film and even though some of those funny parts are pretty nasty, they did make me laugh out loud. Can I just say that I also loved the sound track for this movie. I was feeling it, especially when Boyz II Men made an appearance (man that took me back!).

For what seems like an unlikely pairing, Charlize Theron’s character (Charlotte Field) and Seth Rogen’s character (Fred Flarsky) had some really great chemistry which made them totally believable as a couple. Somehow it worked and I loved seeing their love story develop, even if some of the awkwardness made me uncomfortable sometimes.
Needless to say, this is not a film I would take my kiddos to see, so it would be great for a date night or a Ladies Night Out! I actually think this is a movie that my husband would enjoy as well (and he isn’t a romantic comedy fan), so I will be making him watch it.

There is never a dull moment and I would totally watch this movie again.

Long Shot is in theaters on May 3rd!!!
