My family and I were invited to attend a blogger event at Jungle Island (formerly Parrot Jungle) on Memorial Day and they were excited to see all of the animals ! It was a beautiful, sunny day in South Florida, at times a bit hot but so much better than rain, especially when Jungle Island is outdoors (jut in case the name didn’t give it away…LOL).  If I had done my homework, I would have brought their bathing suits so that they could enjoy “La Playa” (means the beach) portion of the island…now we know for the next time.

Jungle Island is a contemporary theme park that features rare twin orangutans, the world’s largest cat, the Liger, and over 300 birds.

There are also a variety of Attractions and Exhibits for you and your family to enjoy. Some include:

Manú Encounter: An expansive walk-through aviary modeled after the clay cliffs that provide shelter to the wild populations of macaws and other animals in Manú, Peru.

There are dozens of macaws, cockatoos, parrots and throughout, A Lorikeet Aviary allows you to hand feed the birds.

The Children’s Area offers a large playground and Petting Farm.

Jake & Hanna’s Penthouse: Home of two of their orangutans, Jake and Hanna (who can use an ipad as pictured below). Orangutans are actually the largest tree-dwelling animals in the world and are endangered in their natural Indonesian habitat

There are also many photo opportunities with various animals throughout the park.

We had a good time as a family!

There may be a few promotions coming up at Jungle Island and when they do, I will let you know.

I attended a blogger event where we were provided with yummy food and free entrance into the attraction. No compensation or expectation was given to post about the event. Opinions are 100% my own (I wouldn’t have it any other way).
