In celebration of my daughter’s 7th birthday my family and I headed on over to SeaWorld Orlando. It had been some
time since we had been there and we wanted to check out their newest attraction; Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin.
When we got to SeaWorld we started off with the all new Shamu show, One Ocean. We were brave enough to sit in the splash section (which we avoided the last time we were there) but thankfully we didn’t get too wet. Our kiddos sat in the row in front of us and they got wet enough to make them happy but not too wet to where they would uncomfortable to walk around SeaWorld after.
After One Ocean we headed on over to Shamu’s Happy Harbor where the kids rode each of the rides twice (a benefit of no long lines).

The kiddos were happy they had ridden everything so we finally made our way over to Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin.

As you can imagine it is a popular ride so there was a bit of line but it wasn’t too bad and the ride is definitely worth the wait. Once we made it inside, we were able to choose from a “mild” or “wild” version of the motion-based simulator experience. We opted for the “wild” version (go big or home is what we say..sometimes) and we really, really liked it.

When the ride is over, you are in Antartica. Here you can see the penguins swim, eat, play and interact with each other. Since it is replicating the South Pole and there are penguins, it is very cold so you may want to have a jacket with you so that you can stay to watch them. My kids were freezing so they didn’t want to hang out there for very long. On the way out there is also an underwater viewing area and it’s not cold in that room.

While we at SeaWorld we also had fun checking out the various animals, feeding and touching the stingrays but this time we didn’t feed the dolphins because everyone was exhausted at that point (boo!). Maybe next time.

If you have never been to SeaWorld or if it’s been a while, start planning your trip so you can check out Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin.

Disclaimer: My family and I were provided passes for SeaWorld in order to facilitate my review on Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin. ALL opinions are my own.
